LocoRoco Cocoreccho! is the first LocoRoco game for the PlayStation 3, although it is described as an "interactive screensaver" rather than a full game. It was published by Sony Computer Entertainment and released in 2007.

Gameplay[]

The player controls a butterfly (the "Cocoreccho" of the title) to gather LocoRoco that are dispersed throughout a level and direct them to a goal in a large enough group to pass through. The Cocoreccho is maneuvered with the left analog stick and can call LocoRoco using the circle button. This is depicted as a ring of light emanating from the Cocoreccho, which prompts LocoRoco to move toward the Cocoreccho. Players can also use the Cocoreccho to tilt and jolt various characters and objects within the environment by positioning the Cocoreccho on the intended target and tilting or shaking the controller. Along the route there are three types of mini-games. In each mini-game it is possible to increase the number of LocoRoco by up to 15 by achieving a high score.

The player starts with 1 LocoRoco, Kulche, at the start and can wake up other sleeping LocoRoco by coming into physical contact with them. There are 200 LocoRoco to collect throughout the game.

Mojas will eat the LocoRoco if they stay too close, but if correctly guided by the player, the LocoRoco can eliminate Mojas by running into them with some force (as in the original LocoRoco game). If the player has his or her LocoRocos zeroed out, the game is over.

MuiMui are dotted around the game, but getting in to them requires some amount of skill.

Since LocoRoco Cocoreccho was released before LocoRoco 2, Viole isn't in the game. However, all other colors are, even though Budzi and Priffy are quite hard to get to.

Trivia[]

  • LocoRoco Cocoreccho! is the only game where the perfect total number of LocoRocos is more than 20.
